The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest in a Human Trafficking investigation.

Officers from the Service's Human Trafficking Enforcement Team launched an investigation on Friday, April 2, 2021.

It is alleged that:

- a 22-year-old woman was recruited and then trafficked for sexual services throughout Toronto

- a combination of deception and coercion was used to convince the woman to have sex with men for money

- all of the money earned throughout the offence period was turned over

On Tuesday April 27, 2021, Rose Hejazi, 22, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:

1. Trafficking in persons by recruiting
2. Trafficking in persons by exercising control
3. Material benefit from person over 18 years
4. Advertising another person's sexual services
5. Procuring
6. Material benefit from sexual services
7. Possession of proceeds of crime over

She appeared in court at College Park Courts, on Wednesday, April 28, 2021, at 9:30 a.m., room 507.

Investigators are concerned there may be other victims and witnesses, and are appealing to them to come forward.

Victims can be men, women or children; can be Canadian citizens; and can be moved across local, provincial or national borders. They can be coerced through violence or the threat of violence against family and friends.
